Part Washing Titration Kit

The TRANSBRITE TestKIT is used to determine the concentrations of TRANSBRITE 7000 & 9000 Detergents in oz/gallon, by titrating the alkalinity of the solution with an indicator.

  1. Using the graduated test tube, get a sample of the cleaning solution to be tested from the tank and fill the tube to:
    1. 12.5 ML for TRANSBRITE 7000 POWDER
    2. 25 ML for TRANSBRITE 9000 LIQUID.
  2. For very dirty solutions, add a small amount of tap water to the measured sample to increase the clarity to view the color change of the indicator.
  3. Add approximately 6-10 drops of “P INDICTOR” until a pink color is evident.
  4. Holding the bottle vertically, add the “TITRATION ACID” from the dropper bottle to the test sample stirring regularly, COUNTING the number of drops until the pink color of the indicator is gone.
    1. For consistent drop size, hold the “TITRATION ACID” bottle vertically.
    2. As you approach the expected number of drops, agitate the solution after each drop is added not to over-shoot the true end-point.
    3. Titrate over a white background (white paper) to aid in detecting the color change.
  5. Rinse the graduated test tube and repeat steps 1-4 to ensure accuracy.

The number of drops divided by X equals the approximate oz/gallon of TRANSBRITE Detergent.

  • TRANSBRITE 7000 POWDER – X=5.25
    • TRANSBRITE 7000 Example: 16 drops ÷ 5.25 = 3 oz/gallon.
  • TRANSBRITE 9000 LIQUID – X=3.25
    • TRANSBRITE 9000 Example: 16 drops ÷3.25 = 4.92 oz/gallon.
